Judah's Birth Session | Bay Area Birth Photographer

Marla decided to birth baby #3 at home. They wanted their baby to come into the world in a low-intervention environment (which YES! is absolutely safe for a low-risk mom and baby). They wanted a peaceful birth. They wanted to know every single person who came into their sacred birth space.

Marla labored beautifully when the time finally came for Judah to join the world. She relied on the support of her husband, her mom, and her amazing Mid Wife. I arrived about an hour before it was nearly time for Marla to start pushing. And Marla's determination was truly remarkable throughout the entire process. When I look at these pictures today, I'm overwhelmed with two words: strength and love. In the early morning hours, Baby Judah made his way into Marala's arms. The joy and the relief in the room was palpable. It's no small feat to have an unmedicated birth but Judah was also 9lbs 1oz! Incredible!

I   was so honored to capture Marla's birth story.
